Daikin Streamer technology
Decomposes and suppresses the bacteria causing the unpleasant odor generated inside the air conditioner.
It is known that the causative bacteria of the unpleasant odor that comes out from the outlet of the air conditioner are Bacillus, Serratia, and Arthrobacter. It was confirmed that the Streamer technology decomposes and suppresses the bacteria causing these odors.

Demonstration of the suppression against Bacillus (causative agent of odor)
As a result of the test, it was confirmed that Bacillus (bacteria causing odor in the air conditioner) was decomposed and suppressed by 99.7% in 2 hours after the Streamer irradiation.

Test method
A sample obtained by dropping 0.5 ml of the bacterial solution on a petri dish is used as a sample, and the sample is left to stand in the streamer generator. Observe the suppression effect from the results of measuring the number of bacteria after 1, 2, 4, 6, and 24 hours. (Use the initial bacterial solution adjusted to a bacterial count of 1.0 x 106 cells/ml.) The Streamer discharge device and the three test bacteria are provided by Daikin.

Reasons for unpleasant odor from inside the air conditioner
Because of the structure of the air conditioner that operates while taking in the air inside the room, dirt and dust are likely to collect inside the air conditioner, and mold is likely to form due to condensation. Dust becomes a nutrient source for mold, and the bacteria that cause odors inside the air conditioner propagate by using that mold as food, so unpleasant odors often come from the airflow of the air conditioner.
In order to prevent the generation of odor-causing bacteria in the air conditioner, not only we can clean the filters and outlet flaps frequently, but also dry the inside of the air conditioner by operating fan mode for about 1 hour after cooling. Let's keep in mind the measures we can take in our daily life.
